The geopolitical landscape of the 21st century is shifting, and at the heart of this transformation lies Bharat (India). In this profound reflection, Pedro Nonell, a renowned expert on the Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta, and the legacies of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, explores how ancient spiritual wisdom is shaping a "New World Order." By examining the intersection of democracy, spiritual power, and leadership—exemplified by figures like Narendra Modi and Rishi Sunak—this analysis reveals how the "Yoga of Wisdom" is moving from the ashram to the global stage.

Together with my friend and yogi Daniel Alabern, we have reflected on “India's role in a new world order: democracies (India, USA) versus totalitarian states (Russia, China)”

India: The Spiritual Power of the World

Bhagavad Gita in Spanish Bhagavad Gita, India y Nuevo Orden Mundial Bhagavad Gita in Portuguese Bhagavad-Gita, Índia and a Nova ordem mundial.

Bharat (India) emerges as a political, economic, military, demographic and Spiritual power. Swami Vivekananda already predicted it when he stated that “India should be the spiritual power of the world.”

Under an Advaita Vedanta vision and Sri Ramakrishna's principle of harmony between religions:

The Influence of Advaita Vedanta on Global Leadership

  1. What role will India and the Bhagavad Gita play in the new World economic order?
  2. What will happen if a non-dualistic religion like Advaita Vedanta becomes one of the dominant ones in the world? (marking a significant first in human history.)
  3. What can happen if one of the four global leaders is a Yogi?

Europe, and specifically the European Union, is a diminishing actor on the global stage. The UK remains a major player, partly thanks to the Commonwealth; Rishi Sunak, Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was sworn in before a copy of the Bhagavad Gita.

Bharat will be, if it is not already, the spiritual beacon that illuminates humanity. And largely thanks to the Sattwa light of Ramakrishna and the inexhaustible Rajasic work of Swami Vivekananda.

The current president Narendra Modi, as a young man wanted to enter the Ramakrishna Order (Ramakrishna Mission), founded by Swami Vivekananda, but he was told that he had a much greater destiny. He is the highest rated global leader. In his speeches he distills the deep wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita. Everything seems to indicate that his successor will be a Yogi, Andhra Pradesh's prime minister: Yogi Adityanath.

Both Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda and Narendra Modi were great admirers of the Bhagavad Gita.

This new world order will be marked by several religions: Christianity (Protestantism and Orthodoxy), Taoism and Confucianism and Hinduism

How does the Bhagavad Gita influence modern leaders?

Leaders like Narendra Modi and Rishi Sunak have drawn inspiration from the Gita. It teaches that duty must be performed without attachment to results, a principle that can guide ethical governance.

Conclusion

The resurgence of India as a global leader is not merely a political event, but a spiritual milestone for humanity. Through the lens of the Bhagavad Gita, we see a transition toward a world where leadership is rooted in wisdom and selfless service.

As Pedro Nonell highlights, the light of God—as manifested in the teachings of Ramakrishna and the energy of Vivekananda—is now illuminating the path for future generations.
