Sanjaya, Minister of the Kauravas, was blessed by the great Vyasa (compiler of the Bhagavad Gita) to discern, past, present and future (gift of divine vision). He knew that they could not defeat the Pandavas, he related to the King what happened in the battle. Sanjaya is the Minister of the blind king of the Kauravas, in the first verse of chapter 1- The Yoga Arjuna’s Despondency of the Bhagavad Gita, Dhritirashtra, tells him what happens on the battlefield. In the first verse Dhritirashtra (the blind King of the Kuru Kingdom, his sons were the Kauravas) says:

Sanjaya also has the honor of closing the Bhagavad Gita (The Yoga of Renunciation of Action): In the first verse of Chapter 2- The Yoga of Knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita, Sanjaya says: “Thus overcome with compassion and sadness and with his eyes darkened with tears, Madhusudana (Krishna) spoke these words to Arjuna. Bhagavad Gita 2 1. Later Sanjaya says: “Thus spoke Gudakesha Parantapa (Arjuna) to Hrishikesha Govinda
