The Bhagavad Gita clearly explains that Yoga allows one to unite with Brahman, and develops various paths that the human being can follow. We could imagine a mountain, almost infinite, on whose top is Brahman, God, Sat-Chit-Ananda, Allah, Brahman or whatever you want to call him. One can reach it by different paths: it can be a path almost in a straight line, perhaps the most difficult, or it can be a path that slowly rotates around the mountain, even someone with true knowledge could blaze their own path.
